ABSTRACT

Being able to function optimally in our current environment is key to having balanced health and well-being over our lifespans, but that doesn't come without awareness and action. Here, we'll discover how we define wellness at NC State and discuss how movement impacts almost every element of our well-being. Together we'll explore how taking small steps to intentionally move your body can support healthy, holistic life at NC State and beyond.

Alexis Steptoe first joined the Wellness and Recreation team in 2017 as coordinator, where she focused on outreach programs, establishing the campus-wide wellness coaching program, and supporting students in holistically developing their health and wellness. In February 2022, Ms. Steptoe rejoined the team as assistant director of wellness. In this new capacity, she helps advance the well-being of students, faculty, and staff through strategic planning and creative programming to help shape the culture of wellness on NC State’s campus.
