Abstract

In this uplifting talk, Jamal E. Moss will share his experience as an undergraduate student and graduate of NC State University. Throughout the discussion, he will drop some gems that he has learned along his way as he navigates the world at the intersection of public health ethics and medicine.

Jamal Moss was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He is the oldest of 4 brothers and one sister. From a young age, Jamal has been interested in science and medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from NC State, and served as a clinical research director. Today, Jamal spends most of his time studying and doing community service as a second-year medical student at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. He plans to specialize in family and preventive medicine. Jamal also serves as a member of the Racial Equity Task Force created by the City of Durham and as an a member of the College of Sciences Alumni Advisory Board. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring park trails, reading novels and hanging with his classmates.
